I’m sorry to say that the rss2 feed still isn’t working. IE gives me a “this feed contains errors” message.

Hi guys!! Sorry the feed isn’t working– there is a glitch on the site we are working to fix, but it’s a toughie. In the mean time, the Itunes feed is working, and the RSS can be accessed by removing the “2”

Hey Guys…This was a great episode. I (at 26) once waited on a bunch of high school girls and they said I looked like Kirk Cameron. (I am so Italian looking, so I was miffed)
I am definately going to rent “Drop Dead…”
Vanessa…N. Leone has her act together, and that was a compliment (@that time).
Loved Mindy. What a great guest. Do you guys know Julie klausner? Maybe when she swings into town you can have a podcast with her.
I always look forward to yournew podcast.

I took summer school math when I was in high school. I didn’t fail it during the school year, I just took it on the assumption that I would have failed it. I remember there was a tomboy in the class that I had a crush on. I think she liked my friend in the class though. Anyway, she told me that I looked like Beeker. To make it worse I seem to remember her specifying it being Beeker from Muppet Babies. I couldn’t even get adult Beeker.

Overall, I enjoyed the podcast, but the political commentary sounded….off. I’m not sure why — discussing the Weiner scandal is not really that different from discussing Charlie Sheen or Mel Gibson. Maybe because some new information had come out between the podcast being recorded and airing? (Such as a majority of his constituents want him to stay in office.) And while I’m sure Ms. Sterling was joking, her demanding that Mrs. Weiner explain herself rubbed me the wrong way. It felt like Mrs. Weiner was being blamed, where previous discussions about Sheen or Gibson did not heap any blame on the women involved. (Or alternatively, when discussing Toddlers and Tiaras or Real Housewives, the women behaving badly were blamed, but the kids/husbands/etc were not.) In regards to Mrs. Weiner, since she is pregnant, perhaps she does not want to go through pregnancy/birth alone, perhaps she would lose insurance benefits if she divorced, perhaps she and Anthony Weiner have an open relationship that they are not willing to discuss. He did something stupid, but who cares why she stays?

Anyway. Sorry about that, but it felt like such an off moment in what is otherwise a light, joyful podcast.

This was an interesting Firsts question, but I don’t have a response. I don’t really look like anyone famous. Instead, I get “Didn’t you attend Smithville High School?” or “Weren’t you at that ravioli-making conference?” Nope, not me.

My first celebrity comparison came in my first year as a high school teacher. One of my students said that I looked like Ryan Reynolds’ character from Just Friends. The fat one, not the sexy one. That was pretty bad. It was followed by “No, he looks like the bad guy from The Incredibles.” which I thought was way better.

When I was in sixth grade, my teacher compared me to Mayim Bialik, which bothered me a little…but when she said that it was mainly my nose that made her draw the comparison between us, it bothered me even more… #sigh

Quite aside from Vanessa’s donor-celebration waxing last ‘cast about my breasts and glutes in terms more appropriate to a less modest physical specimen (I probably could use some wazing, were I to go the popular hairless route–but darn the luck, that I miss the Tompkins addenda on one week and the zipless audio on this one), the true answer to your question as I recall was from an obnoxious home-room fellow denizen, who was trying to place which sitcom character I was reminding him of. “Well,” I replied honestly, “someone once compared me to [Steve Landesberg’s] Dietrich on BARNEY MILLER.” (Flattering, to be sure…whether the fellow comparing me to him meant it to be or not, that I’m not sure of.) “No, I was thinking of Frank Burns.” He then was actually visibly distressed that I didn’t compliment him on his keen insight. This fellow has since become a reasonably high-priced lawyer, most famous for whining unsuccessfully on behalf of a disgraced athlete.

Great show again! Here’s my answers:

1) Ferguson Darling.
2) Napoleon Dynamite.

I had to look both of these people up, and was not happy with the result on both occasions. I did embrace the comparison to Napoleon and went as him for Halloween though, so that wasn’t all bad.
