    Just listened to this episode & I think I may love dogs as much as Dee. Loved the tidbits at the end that she gave about all the dogs that played Cujo.
    To answer the question, my first plush animal was a bear that had on a flannel nightgown & when you hugged it or laid your head on it, it felt like its heart was beating. Had that bear for years even after its heart stopped beating.

    Well, the first I really remember was Freddy the Frog, a realistic-ish stuffed frog I had when I was about 3. Unfortunately, I had a vivid nightmare about Freddy growing teeth and crawling along the phone cord to come and bite me. Needless to say, Freddy was relegated to a box for many, many years. So my fallback was a purple cow that played “The Eyes of Texas Are Upon You.” I still have both of them, and have since forgiven Freddy.
