It was the family computer, I don’t know exactly, but I do remember spending hours watching my brother try and fail to complete an Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Arc game on it. Anyways, Toby Huss is a great individual and I’m happy to see him pop up wherever he does. I’m a huge Pete and Pete fan from childhood and there’s a happy nostalgia that comes with seeing any of those guys on other things.

I’ve been a fan since his early MTV shorts and of course Pete and Pete. He’s a unique actor with interesting energy. I always enjoy seeing him pop up in things.

Now for the question… we were late to the home computer game. I had used the old macs with big floppy disks in school, playing Number Munchers, Oregon Trail, etc., but we didn’t get our first at home until 1998. I can’t remember what model it was since I was maybe allowed to touch it twice.

My first computer was a hand-me-down from my dad; a Compaq Presario desktop circa 2002 with a 40 gb harddrive. We still had dial-up internet until early 2007. It was painful.

I couldn’t even play Oregon Trail on it; I was reduced to countless hours of Mine-Sweeper, which I never really got better at. Luckily, by the end of the decade, my parents upgraded to an Emachine (ugh) with Windows Millennium Edition (double ugh). At least it allowed me to download a song on Napster, once every five hours.

(Remember them?) It had a 200MB hard drive–probably gigantic compared to some other people’s first, but still minuscule compared to even a cell phone today.

It may have just been called ‘COMPUTER’.
This ancient box was purchased very late in the game seeing as my friends were rockin’ MSN a year or 2 later. All I knew of the internet was that Drew Barrymore’s Playboy pictures could load on there in under an hour and a half.

Long story short, ‘COMPUTER’ is my answer.

I never did learn coding, but still passed the class.
